I am sure that you already know it, but they lowered Takery in a ball last night outside a PetSmart in Harrisburg. It was a smashing success. So welcome 2011, here’s to hoping you’re a good one.

As for New Year’s resolutions, our resolution here at DR is to finally get started on the Handbook for New Pioneers. Our magnum opus. Everything a New Pioneer needs to know in order to navigate the frontier. In depth reviews of all the key frontier landmarks: area codes, zip codes, parking lots, and strip malls. And it’s a collaborative process — the end result will be combination of our efforts. So, let’s see what happens.

It should be noted that there already seems to be a “New Pioneer’s Handbook” — it is a 1975 book subtitled, “Getting Back To The Land in an Energy-Scarce World.” Just so there is no confusion, the Handbook for New Pioneers is something entirely different.
