Saw this article today that the USPS is closing (and has long in the process of closing) a large number of branches.

Question: what will go in their place? There is something appealing about one enterprise/use replacing all of them in one fell swoop automatically. Like tomorrow, instead of the USPS, Quiznos opens 500 new stores, each in the place of an old USPS. Or even better, some store or restaurant chain emerges from the primordial goop of mail delivery. Each store connected to all the others by some barely tangible past linkage.

    I’ll comment on my own post. Consider the following scenario: mail-themed restaurants take over closed USPS branch locations. Here’s the twist: you place an order several days in advance and then your food is prepared in another location and then sent to the restaurant you will be attending. Brilliant.
