As you can probably see, the streetlights module is starting to take shape. DR would like to thank Jim Terry at Jimslights.com for his excellent analysis classifying streetlight pole arms and optics. It definitely gets us started on the right foot.

In the field, I’ve been having a difficult time distinguishing between the tapered elliptical and the upsweep arm. To me, everything so far is either a davit or tapered elliptical. I think we need to start thinking in terms of essential elements. That is, identifying the critical elements for each type and classifying accordingly.

We also need to start with some illustrations.

Does anyone know a good printing press or skilled lithographer?
